*NRV = Nutrient Reference Value as established by EU Regulation (EC) No 1169/2011 as retained in UK law. Nutrient function claims for Vitamin C and Vitamin D3 are made in accordance with Regulation (EC) No 1924/2006 as retained in UK law and refer to the individual nutrients listed, not to Turmeric Complex as a whole. This product is a food supplement, not a medicine.

Why each ingredient is included

We choose ingredients for Turmeric Complex on the basis of established use in food supplements, standardised extraction, and a clean, short ingredient list rather than a long roster of minor additions. Turmeric extract is standardised to 95% curcuminoids, meaning the concentration of the compound most associated with turmeric is measured and consistent from batch to batch, rather than relying on raw turmeric powder where potency can vary considerably.

Black pepper extract is included in the form of BioPerine®, a patented extract standardised to 95% piperine, and is a common pairing alongside turmeric extract in food supplements. Ginger root extract is included at a 5:1 concentration from Zingiber officinale, a long-established botanical ingredient in UK food supplements. Vitamin C and Vitamin D3 are included at fixed, NRV-referenced doses and carry authorised nutrient function claims under retained EU law, which is why they are the only two ingredients in the table with a %NRV figure.

  • Turmeric Extract (500 mg): standardised to 95% curcuminoids from Curcuma longa, included as part of the Turmeric Complex daily capsule.
  • Black Pepper Extract (5 mg): BioPerine®, standardised to 95% piperine, commonly formulated alongside turmeric extract.
  • Ginger Root Extract (200 mg): Zingiber officinale extract at a 5:1 concentration ratio.
  • Vitamin C (80 mg): contributes to the normal function of the immune system and to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.
  • Vitamin D3 (15 µg): contributes to the maintenance of normal bones and to the normal function of the immune system.

Capsule shell

The capsule shell is HPMC (hydroxypropyl methylcellulose), a plant-derived material that makes the product suitable for vegetarians. There is no gelatine in the shell, and the capsule contains no added sugar or artificial sweeteners.

Sourcing standards

Our turmeric, black pepper and ginger extracts are sourced from suppliers who provide certificates of analysis confirming the stated curcuminoid, piperine and extract ratio figures for every batch used in production.

Allergen information

Turmeric Complex is manufactured in a facility that also handles other food ingredients. The product itself does not contain milk, egg, soya, nuts, gluten or shellfish as deliberate ingredients.

Reading the dosage table correctly

"Not authorised for these" is not a warning — it simply means UK and retained EU law has not approved a specific nutrient function claim for botanical extracts such as turmeric, black pepper or ginger, unlike vitamins and minerals with an established NRV.

You will notice that the %NRV column shows a dash for Turmeric Extract, Black Pepper Extract and Ginger Root Extract, but a percentage for Vitamin C and Vitamin D3. This is not an oversight. Nutrient Reference Values are only established in law for vitamins and minerals, and only those two ingredients in our formula are vitamins in the strict regulatory sense. Botanical extracts such as turmeric, black pepper and ginger are described factually — by their standardised form and quantity — rather than with a claim, because no EU 1924/2006 authorised function claim exists for them.

  1. Locate the ingredient name in the left-hand column of the dosage table.
  2. Check the "Form" column for the standardisation used — for example, 95% curcuminoids.
  3. Read the milligram or microgram amount in the "Per capsule" column as the full daily dose, since one capsule is the recommended daily intake.
  4. Only Vitamin C and Vitamin D3 carry a %NRV figure, reflecting their status as vitamins with an established Nutrient Reference Value.

Do not exceed the recommended daily dose of one capsule. This product is a food supplement, not a medicine, and should be kept out of reach of children.
